Nicaragua always attaches much importance to its friendship and solidarity with Vietnam , and wants more cooperation in economics, trade and investment, especially in the fields of the two countries’ strengths, said President Daniel Ortega.
Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega made the statement on September 2 at a reception for politburo member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Le Hong Anh during his working visit to the Latin American country.
President Ortega highly valued Le Hong Anh’s visit and considered it an important milestone in the relations between the CPV and the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) as well as between the two States.
He urged Vietnam ’s enterprises to soon visit Nicaragua to seek investment and trade opportunities, adding that Nicaraguan businesses will also come to study Vietnam ’s know-how in agriculture, small and medium-sized enterprise development, as well as cooperation possibilities with Vietnamese companies.
For his part, Le Hong Anh, who is also a standing member of the CPV Central Committee’s Secretariat, briefed Ortega on Vietnam ’s current achievements in socio-economic development, as well as its rising position in the international arena.
The two sides exchanged views on numerous regional and international issues of mutual concern, and agreed on measures to further their bilateral ties in a more practical and effective manner.
Accordingly, the two sides will foster delegation, information and experience exchanges, especially in leading local socio-economic development, and support each other at international forums that the two countries are members.
They also agreed to educate their youth on the Vietnam-Nicaragua traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation relationship.
The same day, Le Hong Anh met with President of the Nicaraguan National Assembly Rene Nunez, who expressed his desire to enhance the relationship between the two parliaments, as well as step up delegation exchanges to share experience in legislative issues.
Le Hong Anh asked the Nicaraguan NA to build a legal framework for the sustainable and stable cooperation between the two countries.
During Le Hong Anh’s stay, an agreement was signed by the CPV and the FSLN to further strengthen the friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and States.
