Vietnam nominated for Asia’s Best Golf Destination 2021 award

Vietnam has been nominated for the Asia’s Best Golf Destination 2021 award, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) said on March 9, calling on people and tourists to vote for the country.

Hanoi (VNA) –Vietnam has been nominated for the Asia’s Best Golf Destination 2021 award, theVietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) said on March 9, calling onpeople and tourists to vote for the country.

It noted that votes can becast on the website www.worldgolfawards.com from now until September 1.

Support from people andtourists will give Vietnam a chance to continue promoting itself as ahospitable country welcoming visitors from far and wide with open arms. Inparticular, Vietnam has been fostering sports tourism as part of efforts toboost post-pandemic tourism recovery, according to the VNAT.

Vietnam was recognised as theWorld’s Best Gold Destination in 2019 and Asia’s Best Golf Destination for fourstraight years, from 2017 to 2020.

Tourism experts said golftourism is highly potential in Vietnam, and that unlike ordinary visitors, golftravellers will return to previous destinations for many times and they arecapable of spending much on high-end hotel and restaurant services.

Together with the developmentof tourism infrastructure, the golf course system in Vietnam has received biginvestment in recent years with high quality and beautiful landscape.

The Asia’s Best GolfDestination award is part of the World Golf Awards, held annually since 2014and viewed as the most prestigious awards in the golf tourism industry./.

Air travel surges to 1.68 million passengers during holiday periods

Domestic air travel accounted for 675,140 passengers and 3,400 tonnes of cargo, marking declines of 7.5% and 11.6%, respectively. In contrast, international transport showed robust growth, surpassing 1 million passengers and reaching 24,050 tonnes of cargo, up 10% in passenger numbers and 10.6% in cargo volume.

Vietnam records 2 million foreign arrivals in April

The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) said the figures highlight the country’s rising profile as a safe, stable and increasingly compelling destination. It is the first time Vietnam has surpassed 2 million foreign arrivals for four straight months, and the first time the January – April tally has reached 8.8 million.
