A delegation of the Vietnam Peace Committee (VPC), led by its Vice Chairman Pham Van Chuong, was received by Lao Deputy Prime Minister Bounpon Bouttanavong in Vientiane, on July 22.
At the reception, Chuong congratulated Bounpon Bouttanavong on his appointment as Lao Deputy Prime Minister.
He informed the host of the outcomes of the talks between the VPC and the Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity, during which both sides agreed to increase the exchange of visits. The two committees will also work closely with each other at the ASEAN People’s Forum to be held in Malaysia in 2015 and Laos in 2016, Chuong said.
Deputy PM Bounpon Bouttanavong highly valued the partnership between the two committees and suggested they strengthen the sharing of information and experience for more effective cooperation, contributing to fostering the special ties between the two countries for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.-VNA
