Vietnam pockets golds at gymnastics, taekwondo championships

  - Gymnast Le ThanhTung snatched a gold medal with a perfect landing in the mend’s vault finalswith a score of 14,733 at the 10th edition of FIG Artistic GymnasticsWorld Cup in Doha, Qatar on March 25.

This is Tung’s first gold in a world event. The 22-year-old gymnast from Ho ChiMinh City is a gold medal hopeful for upcoming regional competitions, includingSEA Games 2017 and Asiad 2018. He bagged two golds for Vietnam at the 2015 SEAGames in Singapore.

Four gymnasts from Vietnam- Le Thanh Tung, Pham Phuoc Hung, Dinh Phuong Thanhand Dang Nam- participated in the gymnastic event, the first major competitionof the sport this year.

Meanwhile, Tran Tien Khoa from Can Tho also struck gold in the men’s individualstandard poomsae (age 18-20) at the Southeast Asia Taekwondo Championship 2017held in Malaysia from March 20-27.-VNA

Golf tournament marks 50 years of Vietnam–Germany ties
