Vietnam and Poland will soon organise a deputy ministerial-level defence dialogue and work together in training and defence industry.
The activities form part of a future cooperation plan agreed by Vietnamese Defence Minister Phung Quang Thanh and his Polish counterpart Tomasz Siemoniak during their talks in Hanoi on August 7.
The Polish officer began his two-day official visit the same day, aiming to further bilateral defence ties and consolidate the traditional friendship and multi-dimensional cooperation between the two countries and armies.
The two ministers reviewed the cooperation outcomes between their ministries, especially after Thanh’s visit to Poland in 2013 and under a Memorandum of understanding on bilateral defence cooperation signed in 2010.
They reached a consensus on the exchange of visits at all levels as well as the early launch of the Polish Government’s preferential credit package for Vietnam.
Siemoniak stated that Poland is willing to share its experience in UN peacekeeping activities.
Minister Thanh held out hope that following Siemoniak’s visit, fresh progress will be made in the bilateral defence ties.
At their talks, the two ministers compared notes on regional and global issues of common concern.
