Vietnam attaches a great deal of importance to preventing and fighting corruption, considering it one of the top priorities in building a professional and modern administration.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc made the remark in Hanoi on September 21 while receiving a visiting delegation from Thailand ’s National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) led by its head Panthep Klanarongran.

Phuc described the visit, which is taking place from September 21-25, as a big contribution to consolidating and strengthening friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand .

He praised the outcomes of the talks between the Thai guests and a delegation from the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam (GIV), stressing that Vietnam will encourage and create favourable conditions for cooperation programmes between both agencies.

Panthep Klanarongran said the NACC and the GIV signed a memorandum of understanding on preventing corruption under which the two sides will continue to share their experiences and strengthen mutual assistance in personnel training.-VNA
