Vietnam ranks 14th at sixth Francophone Games

Vietnam’s ping-pong star, Doan Kien Quoc, took the gold after defeating Egyptian rival Amed Ali Sale 3-1 in the men’s singles.

Quoc’s teammate, Mai Hoang My Trang, brought home the first silver medal in the women’s singles while the other silver went to ping-pong players in the mixed team event.

Boxer Tran Quoc Viet pocketed a bronze medal in the 57-kg category.

The French delegation topped the Games with 23 gold medals.

The Games, which take place every four years, opened in the Lebanese capital city of Beirut on September 27 with the participation of around 3,000 athletes from 42 countries and territories./.
