Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam logged 76 new local infections of COVID-19 inthe past six hours to 12pm on June 27, bringing the national count to 15,401 accordingto the Ministry of Health.
Among the newly-detected cases, 65 were in Ho Chi Minh City, eight in Hung Yen,two in Bac Giang, and one in Bac Kan. Seventy-one were recorded in quarantinesites or sealed off areas.
As of 12pm on June 27, Vietnam had documented a total of 13,641 locallytransmitted cases and 1,760imported ones.
Among the patients under treatment, 370 have tested negative once for thecoronavirus SARS-CoV-2 that causes the disease, 125 twice, and 152 thrice.
The ministry said 6,137 patients have been given the all-clear so far. Thedeath toll has reached 75, with the latest being an 80-year-old man from HCMCity.
The patient tested positive for the virus on June 10. He was immediatelybrought to Tan Binh District Hospital before being transferred to HCM CityHospital for Tropical Diseases as his condition worsened with symptoms such asdifficulty breathing and a high fever.
Prior to the virus he was suffering from hypertension, gout disease, Cushing'ssyndrome and difficulty in moving around for years.
The cause of death was recorded as severe pneumonia cause by COVID-19 and septicshock. He was declared dead at 5am on June 26./.
