Vietnam records one imported COVID-19 case

One more COVID-19 infection was recorded in Vietnam on January 25, raising the total to 1,549, according to the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi (VNA) – One more COVID-19 infection was recorded in Vietnamon January 25, raising the total to 1,549, according to the National SteeringCommittee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The new case returned to Vietnam from Indonesia on January10, and was quarantined upon her arrival at Hanoi’s Noi Bai InternationalAirport.

Among the total, 693 cases were transmitted domestically.

Additional 14 patients were given the all-clear on January25, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,425.

Among patients undergoing treatment at medicalestablishments across the country, eight tested negative for the coronavirusonce, eight others twice and 11 thrice.

At present, 20,890 people who had close contact withCOVID-19 patients or entered Vietnam from pandemic-hit areas are underquarantine./.

Vietnam moves toward universal free annual health checkups from 2026

Every Vietnamese citizen from 2026 onward will be entitled to at least one free annual medical checkup or screening. Each individual will also have a digital health record integrated into the national digital identification platform VNeID, enabling authorities and healthcare providers to manage health data in a synchronised and continuous manner.

Under the plan, each resident will be assigned a unique EHR linked to their personal identification number, ensuring accuracy and consistency while minimising duplication and data discrepancies. Health data will be continuously updated from medical facilities, routine check-ups, and screening programmes, then integrated and centrally displayed on the application.
