Vietnam, Russia enjoy comprehensive ties

The relations between Vietnam and Russia have stood the test of time and created a firm foundation for the two countries to boost cooperation in many fields of common interests, a Russian diplomat has said.

The assertion was made by Russia’s ConsulGeneral in Ho Chi Minh City Anatoli Vasilievich Borovik at a pressconference on February 19 on the occasion of the 63th anniversary ofdiplomatic ties between Vietnam and Russia (1950-2013) and RussianDiplomats Day.

Borovik said that in 2012 thebilateral relationship was raised to a new high level thanks to theexchange of visits by the two sides’ senior leaders as well asenterprises in order to seek cooperation and investment opportunities ineach country.

The Consul General affirmed thatRussia will continue to assist Vietnam in implementing theconstruction of a nuclear power plant in central Ninh Thuan province. Hestressed that Russia will provide the plant with the latest andmodern technology to ensure its safety.

Last year,two-way trade between Vietnam and Russia reached 3.5 billion USD,up 40 percent from the 2011’s level. The two countries are aiming todouble the figure this year.-VNA

Vietnam, France boost economic and financial cooperation

Economic ties have continued to grow across trade, investment and development cooperation. Bilateral trade surpassed 5 billion USD in the first eight months of 2026, with Vietnam exporting 3.1 billion USD worth of goods to France and importing 1.9 billion USD worth of products from the European country.
