A Vietnamese minister has expressed his wish that Vietnam and China would continue to step up cooperation, solve difficulties and create favourable conditions for each other to raise the scale and efficiency of their cooperation.
Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh voiced this wish at separate meetings with Chinese Commerce Minister Chen Deming and Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) Zhang Xiaoquiang on the occasion of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit to China .
The Vietnamese minister spoke highly of progress in cooperation between the two countries, particularly in trade, foreign direct investment (FDI) and official development assistance (ODA).
China ’s FDI has been poured into many important projects in Vietnam , significantly contributing to the country’s economic growth, Vinh said.
Two-way trade between Vietnam and China reaches some 30 billion USD, he noted, adding that China has funded over 20 programmes and projects in Vietnam worth more than 600 million USD.
Chinese Commerce Minister Chen Deming and NDRC Vice Chairman Zhang Xiaoquiang said they hope to beef up cooperation with Vietnam, suggesting Vietnam create favourable conditions for Chinese businesses in the country./.
