The third exchange between Vietnamese and Singaporean young military officers began in Hanoi on August 12 with a series of activities.

The event was intended to foster friendship, solidarity as well as mutual trust and understanding between the two countries’ young officers, demonstrating their determination to elevate cooperation between the two States, armies and peoples.

On August 12, the Vietnamese side presented the country’s stance on the regional security situation and discussed related matters with the Singaporean delegation.

The guests also visited Division 371 of the Air Defence – Air Force Service and paid a courtesy call to leaders of the military youth board under the Vietnam People’s Army’s General Department of Politics.

Major Wong Wai Keat, head of the Singaporean delegation, told the Quan doi Nhan dan (People’s Army) daily that the exchange is an opportunity for the two countries’ young officers to share experience to contribute more to the development of their respective armies.

During the programme, which will run through August 17, Singaporean officers will visit some Vietnam’s military units and renowned destinations in Hanoi, the central city of Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.-VNA
