Foreign Ministry spokesperson Luong Thanh Nghi on April 19 refuted an European Parliament resolution on human rights in Vietnam.
Answering reporters’ queries on Vietnam ’s reaction to the resolution, dated on April 18, 2013, Nghi said the resolution has provided erroneous information and statement on the real situation of human rights in Vietnam.
“The move goes against the trend of frank and open dialogue in the field of human rights which has been developed and conducted frequently between Vietnam and EU mechanisms, negatively affecting the development and the growing relationship between Vietnam and the EU,” said Nghi.-VNA
