Hanoi(VNA) – Vietnam’s sports sector is preparing all resources for regional andinternational tournaments such as the 20th Southeast Asian Games(SEA Games 9) the 9th Para Games in Malaysia and the third Asian Youth Games in Indonesia.

The informationwas revealed by Vuong Bich Thang, head of the Vietnam Sports Administration, ata press briefing on the sector’s tasks in the remaining months of the year inHanoi on March 16.

The immediate task, he said, is to prepare for a national team attending the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup, which will take place in the Republic of Korea from May 20 to June 11.

This is thefirst time Vietnam has won a ticket to compete in such a big footballchampionship, he said, the Vietnamese team is expected to create sudden thingsat the event.

According to the draw, Vietnam are in Group E withFrance, New Zealand and Honduras.

In the first quarter of this year, Vietnamese athletes won a total of 18 goldmedals at international sports events, Thang said.-VNA
