Vietnamese Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong and his Sri Lankan counterpart Abdul Rauff Hakeem signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two ministries in Hanoi on April 22.
The signing took place following their talks on the same day.
At the talks, Cuong congratulated Sri Lanka on its development achievements over the past time.
He informed the guest that Vietnam has been recognised as a full member of the Hague conference on private international law as of April 10, 2013.
Cuong hailed cooperation between the two countries at international forums like the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the ASEAN Regional Forum.
The Sri Lankan minister encouraged Vietnam to apply arbitration model in the settlement of disputes, especially among business community.
The two sides discussed increased law cooperation between the two nations, including policymaking via the participation in the Asian Forum of Legislative Information Affairs.
They agreed to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Sri Lanka and Vietnam .
The two ministers also highly valued cooperation between the two countries’ legislative, executive and judicial bodies.-VNA
