Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Xuan Lich on March 2 received border defence delegations from Laos, Cambodia and China, who attended an exchange programme highlighting the importance of cross-border friendship.
At the receptions in Hanoi, Lich, who is also Chief of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People’s Army, praised the time-tested relations between the Vietnamese border guard forces and those of Laos, Cambodia, and China.
The sides informed each other of their latest border policies and troops and exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.
They agreed that they must promote twinning relations between border guard posts and border communities, step up experience sharing, draw up joint patrol plans and intensify crackdowns on border crime, thus contributing to borders of stability, peace, friendship and development between Vietnam and the three countries.-VNA
