Hanoi (VNA) - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s ArmyPham Ngoc Minh received Nuchit Sribunsong, head of the Office of Policy andPlans under the Royal Thai Army’s Directorate of Joint Operations, in Hanoi onMarch 22.

Bothhost and guest spoke highly of relations growth between Vietnam and Thailandacross sectors, including defence.

Theyagreed that bilateral defence ties have been strengthened over time, contributingto ensuring peace and security in each country and across the region.

Theytook note of some cooperation highlights, including joint air and navalactivities, engagements in education-training and military medicine, as well asexchanges among young officers and delegations of different levels.

NuchitSribunsong reported on his earlier working session with the Defence Ministry’sinstitute of external relations in defence, saying both sides have reached anagreement on cooperation and consultation mechanisms.

Minhstated that the Defence Ministry will continue supporting the two agencies tocarry out their consultation, experience exchange, and joint strategyresearch.-VNA
