Vietnam-Thailand defence cooperation boosted

– On the sidelines of the 2020ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) Retreat in Hanoi, Defence Minister Gen.Ngo Xuan Lich on February 19 received Gen. Chaichan Changmongkol, DeputyDefence Minister of Thailand.

Lich thanked Thailand for its support to Vietnam in thecountry’s ASEAN chairmanship year and its sharing of experiences in holding military-defenceconferences and activities in 2020.

For his part, the Thai General spoke highly of the hostcountry’s preparations and the success of the retreat. He expressed support toVietnam in the ASEAN chairmanship year and pledged to realise all the contentsin the joint statement of the ASEAN defence ministers on cooperation againstdiseases and epidemics.

Rejoicing at the fine development in the defence tiesbetween the two countries, the sides agreed to continue implementing all thecooperation contents in an effective way in the time to come. General Lich alsoextended invitation to Thai defence firms to participate in an internationalexhibition on the defence industry and equipment to be held in Vietnam./.

Exhibition in Vientiane celebrates Vietnam–Laos friendship
