Bangkok (VNA) - Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam Nguyen Hoa Binh held talks with Chief Justice Cheep Jullamon, President of the Supreme Court of Thailand, in Bangkok on September 12, seeking to enhance cooperation between the two courts.

Welcoming the Vietnamese delegation, Jullamon emphasised the importance of the visit.

He affirmed he supported strengthening collaboration between the two judicial offices.

Binh, in turn, affirmed the partnership between the two courts has developed stably, reflected through the signing of a memorandum of understanding on judicial cooperation in August 2017.

The document has contributed to stepping up cooperative activities, especially in judicial training, and application of information technology at court, he stated.

Vietnam wants to share and learn from Thailand’s experience in judicial reform and improvement of the court system, and in judicial training.

Binh took the occasion to thank his host Thailand’s support when the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam acted as Chairman of the Council of ASEAN Chief Judges (CACJ) in 2016. He affirmed Vietnam will back Thailand’s hosting of the seventh meeting of the CACJ in 2019.
