Hanoi (VNA) – Thai Deputy Prime Minister Tanasak Patimaprakorn expressed his wish that Vietnam and Thailand will step up their cultural and tourism cooperation while meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart Vu Duc Dam in Hanoi on July 28.
Tanasak Patimaprakorn, who is in Vietnam to attend the “Thai Cultural Days” programme, suggested the two countries beef up their partnership in cultural heritage preservation as well as exchanges between their agencies operating in this field.
The guest noted his hope that the two sides will increase the sharing of information about cultural and artistic events at national, regional and international levels and support each other in organising and joining travel fairs.
He said his visit aims to contribute to enhancing mutual understanding and fostering political, diplomatic, economic, and trade ties between the two countries.
For his part, Deputy PM Dam said the “Thai Cultural Days” programme is a meaningful event to mark the 40 th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties (August 6, 1976).
He cherished the fruitful cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand, especially since the two countries elevated their relationship to a strategic partnership in 2013.
Since then, the bilateral collaboration across fields, ranging from politics to business, culture and social affairs, has been enhanced significantly, he said.-VNA
