Vietnam to compete in world gymnastics championships

Seven Vietnamese gymnasts will compete in the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships to be held in Canada on October 2.

Hanoi (VNA) -Seven Vietnamese gymnasts will compete in the FIG Artistic Gymnastics WorldChampionships to be held in Canada on October 2.

The participating athletesinclude Pham Phuoc Hung, Dinh Phuong Thanh, Le Thanh Tung, Dang Nam, Do Vu Hungand Nguyen Tuan Dat.

“Vietnam is sending itsbest team to the championship. We will try our best to clear the qualifyinground and reach the final,” said coach Truong Minh Sang.

“Among these players, thehighest expectations are from Tung. The 22-year-old won an Asian gold medal andthree gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games, which concluded in Malaysialast month,” Sang added.

The tournament will draw500 athletes from 80 countries and territories.-VNA
