Vietnam tops regional bodybuilding championship

Vietnam took nine gold medals at the 17th Southeast Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship, which closed on Batam Island, Indonesia, on June 12.

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Vietnam took nine gold medalsat the 17th Southeast Asian Bodybuilding and Physique SportsChampionship, which closed on Batam Island, Indonesia, on June 12.

The four-day tournament that started June 8 saw theparticipation of more than 200 athletes.

Vietnam, as a powerhouse in the region, also secured three silversand four bronzes to top all men's and women's classes and the overallmedal tally.

Among the winners were Bui Dac Phi Vu (men's 55kg), Le HongPhong (men's 60kg), Nguyen Thi Cam Tu – Tran Bao Quoc Vuong (mixed pair), TranThi Thanh Tam (women's 1.60m) and Nguyen Thi Kim Dung (women'sover-1.60m).

Nguyen Minh My took the title in the men's 80kg and was votedthe best athlete of the championship./.

One of the clearest examples is Hieu Luc, a modest fish soup eatery on Hai Ba Trung Street in Hanoi, which has been included in the Michelin Selected category for the second consecutive year. ASEAN city leaders explore Hanoi’s heritage sites

At the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, delegates visited the Doan Mon Gate and learnt about the formation and development of the ancient capital through different historical periods at display spaces. They also explored the Kinh Thien Palace’s Dragon Steps (large stone steps with dragon carvings), regarded as the political and ceremonial centre of the imperial citadel during successive Vietnamese dynasties.
