Vietnam treasures the practical and trustworthy partnership with Japan, considering it a priority in the country’s foreign relations policy, stated Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Tokyo (VNA) – Vietnam treasures thepractical and trustworthy partnership with Japan, considering it a priority inthe country’s foreign relations policy, stated Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

He made the remark at a meeting with TadamoriOshima, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan, in Tokyo on June 5.

PM Phuc expressed his delight toward robustgrowth of the Vietnam – Japan intensive strategic partnership, and close cooperationbetween the two parliaments.

Lauding outcomes of Tadamori Oshima’s visit toVietnam in late May, he asked the Japanese House of Representatives to increaseexchanges with the Vietnam National Assembly in making laws and promoting therole of their friendship parliamentary groups in boosting bilateral ties.

He suggested the two bodies work together atregional and international forums, including the 2018 Asia PacificParliamentary Forum hosted by Vietnam.

The PM requested the Japanese lower house to backstance on the East Sea issue of ASEAN and Vietnam.

He also suggested the body support the JapaneseGovernment’s official development assistance for Vietnam to develop keyinfrastructure projects, improve workforce quality and respond to climate change. 

Tadamori Oshima said he values Japan’scooperation with Vietnam and wants to support the relationship to thrive in allfields.

He agreed to boost mutual trust andunderstanding through exchanges between committees and young parliamentarians. 

He stressed that the House of Representatives ofJapan and Japan – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group are willing to workwith the Vietnamese side in the celebration of 45-year relations between thetwo countries.-VNA

State President hosts ABAC 2025 Chair
