The ongoing visit by Vietnam’s National Assembly delegation to Ukraine aims to further enhance the traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between the two parliaments and the two countries as a whole.
Bilateral ties have been incessantly fostered and developed over the past time between the legislatures, stressed NA Vice Chairman Huynh Ngoc Son during his talks with First Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Ihor Kaletnik on December 5.
Son briefed the host on the socio-economic development, domestic and foreign policies of Vietnam as well as the outcome of the sixth session of the 13th National Assembly with the adoption of the revised 1992 Constitution and other important amended laws.
The Vietnamese NA Vice Chairman thanked Ukraine for supporting Vietnam ’s election as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for the 2014-2016 tenure. He invited Ukrainian law-making leaders to visit Vietnam in the coming time.
For his part, Koletnik expressed his hope to tighten both parliaments’ ties and intensify the coordination between committees and friendship parliamentary groups, affirming that his country supports the high-level exchanges and the trade-investment cooperation enhancement.
Both sides agreed to work together in the international forums, increase two-way trade and share experience in legislative field in the foreseeable future.
Earlier, NA Vice Chairman Son and his entourages had a working session with Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council and the Communist party of Ukraine.-VNA
