Moscow (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to UkraineNguyen Hong Thach asked Ukraine agencies to coordinate with the Vietnamese Embassy to seek flexible resolutions to issues facing Vietnamesepeople fleeing the war during a meeting with representatives from Ukraine’s StateMigration Service (SMS) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on June 21.

The Ukrainian side thanked Vietnam for its humanitarian assistanceto Ukraine and highly appreciated Vietnam’s active and well-organised evacuation of Vietnamesepeople from the war-torn country. They suggested the two sides maintain closeand effective cooperation in citizen protection; and, if possible, revise andamend cooperation documents to make them relevant to the new reality.

Thach, for his part, gave his hosts a brief overview of thestatus of Vietnamese people living in Ukraine in the past and at present.

He also provided updates on problems facing Vietnamesefleeing Ukraine who now wish to return, urging competent Ukrainian authoritiesto work with Vietnamese Embassy to come up with flexible and timelymeasures to support them, particularly those who had lost permanent residencepapers or are having papers pending.

Both sides agreed to soon provide instructions forVietnamese people and to meet in-person for better collaboration ifnecessary./.

FLC appeal hearing postponed, giving more time for compensation

After discussions and listening to opinions from lawyers, defendants, and victims present at the trial, the judicial panel stated that postponing the appeal hearing for Trinh Van Quyet, ex-chairman of FLC Group, is necessary to ensure the rights of the victims. The postponement aims to give the defendants and their families more time to pay compensation for victims and those with related rights and obligations.
