Vietnam, Venezuela hold eighth deputy ministerial-level political consultation

Hanoi (VNA) – Permanent Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and his Venezuelan counterpart Ruben Dario Molina conducted the eighth deputy ministerial-level politicalconsultation via a video conference on September 17.

Son shared about Vietnam’ssocio-economic situation, experience in coping with COVID-19 pandemic as wellas measures to recover the economy and ensure social welfares following theoutbreak.

Molina, for his part,informed the Vietnamese Deputy FM about the Venezuelan Government’s measures tomaintain political security and continue socio-economic development amidcurrent challenges.

He affirmed thatVenezuela highly values Vietnam’s impressive socio-economic achievements andwishes to learn about Vietnam’s experience in national renovation and developmentprocess.

Both sides expressedtheir delight at maintained bilateral traditional relationship via visits and cooperationmechanisms. They agreed to continue working closely together to maintain thedevelopment of bilateral comprehensive partnership, including promoting the implementation of theInter-Governmental Committee mechanism; strengthening dialogue and connectivityto boost trade and cooperation in national defence, agriculture and health care; joining hands to tackle difficulties faced by investment projects; and offering mutual support atinternational organisations and multilateral forums.

On the basis of mutualtrust, they extensively discussed regional and global issues of common concernand shared the view that disputes among nations should be settled via peacefulmeans in line with international law./.
