Vietnam, Wallonia-Brussels approve 27 projects for 2022-2024

As many as 27 projects within the framework of the 2022-2024 bilateral cooperation programme were approved by the Permanent Inter-Committee between the Vietnamese Government and the French Community of Belgium in Wallonia Region, the French Community Commission in Brussels Capital Region at its 11th meeting in Hanoi on December 13-14.

Hanoi (VNA) – As many as 27 projects within theframework of the 2022-2024 bilateral cooperation programme were approved by the PermanentInter-Committee between the Vietnamese Government and the French Community ofBelgium in Wallonia Region, the French Community Commission in Brussels CapitalRegion at its 11th meeting in Hanoi on December 13-14.

The projects focus on high-quality personnel training in health care,education-training, French language development, law, culture industry,application research, agriculture and logistics.

During the period, the Wallonia-Brussels side will fund 328working trips and provide 188 scholarships for Vietnam.

In particular, a project on improving French and journalism skills for theVietnam News Agency’s reporters was also approved, helping to enhance thequality of French news via training courses in Belgian universities and pressagencies.

At the meeting, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Planning and InvestmentTran Quoc Phuong spoke highly of the results in 25 joint projects ineducation-training, health care, environment, culture and tourism between2019-2021, contributing to Vietnam’s socio-economic development and globalintegration.

Since the signing of the cooperation agreement between theVietnamese Government and the Government of the French Community of Belgium in WalloniaRegion and the French Community Commission in Brussels Capital Region in 2002,both sides have conducted 33 official visits to foster mutual trust. During theprevious 10 meetings, a total of 783 projects were approved.

As many as 805 Vietnamese students and postgraduates received scholarshipsfor studies in Belgium while 1,998 experts from both sides joined in exchanges.The bilateral cooperation focused on health care, environment, new technology,tertiary and vocational training, scientific research, culture and Frenchlanguage./.
