Prague (VNA) - The Vietnam women’s football team won 6-0 over FK Pardubice of the Czech Republic on September 8 (local time) as part of their training trip in the European country.

With the enthusiastic support of the Vietnamese fans, the team played exuberantly and completely dominated the host team throughout the match.

Captain Huynh Nhu scored two goals in the 30th and 39th minutes in the first half of the match.

In the second half, coach Mai Duc Chung made some substitutions and the young players maintained the pressure on the host team. As a result, in the 65th, 70th, 75th, and 89th minutes, young strikers Vu Thi Hoa and Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan each scored twice to conclude a resounding 6-0 victory for the Vietnamese team.

Chung told Vietnam News Agency correspondents in Prague that the training trip in the Czech Republic is to offer opportunities for players to compete with top European teams. It is part of the team’s preparation for important tournaments next year, such as the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) and the ASEAN Football Federation Championship (AFF Cup).

The team is in a transitional period, so a training trip like this is a chance for young players to showcase their abilities and learn from the veterans, Nhu said./.
