Berlin (VNA) — The Vietnamese women’s football team concluded a friendly match with host German RB Leipzig with a 0-2 loss on September 4 (local time) as part of their first training trip this year.

Coach Mai Duc Chung said the purpose of this training trip was to rejuvenate the squad in anticipation of next year’s tournaments such as the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) and the ASEAN Football Federation Championship (AFF Cup), adding it also offered an opportunity for the players to understand each other.

Captain Huynh Nhu said this was a good opportunity for Vietnamese players to learn from their European opponents.

After this match, Chung and his squad will return to the Czech Republic for two other friendly matches with FK Pardubice and FC Viktoria Plzen on September 8 and 11./.
