Vietnamese martial artist Phan Thi Ngoc Linh beat Samantha Ruberu of France in the finals to win the first world goal medal in Muay Thai at the 2010 World Muay Thai Championships, taking place in Bangkok, from March 19-26.
The Vietnamese athlete beat Ruberu with a major rule. She led 9-6 in the first bout and 18-9 in the second. Linh extended the lead to 15 points in the third bout, which gave her the victory.
The number of goal medals may change when two athletes, Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat and Le Huu Phuc, fight in the finals on March 26, in the 60kg and 51kg categories, respectively.
