Vietnam wins gold at Asian Physics Olympiad

Vietnam has won one gold medal at the 2014 Asian Physics Olympiad (AphO) which is being held in Singapore from May 11-19, announced the Ministry of Education and Training.

The gold medalist is Cao Ngoc Thai from the Phan Boi Chau High School in the central province of Nghe An.

Thisyear, all eight members of the Vietnamese team won awards, includingone gold, four silvers, two bronzes and one certificate of merit.

Thesilver medalists are Dao Phuong Khoi and Do Thi Bich Hue from theUniversity of Natural Science’s High School for Gifted Students underthe Vietnam National University-Hanoi, Vu Thanh Trung Nam from the HanoiAmsterdam High School, and Pham Nguyen Tuan Anh from the High Schoolfor Gifted Students of Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City.

CaoVan Nam from the High School for Gifted Students of Vietnam NationalUniversity- Ho Chi Minh City and Nguyen Ngoc Khanh from the Phan BoiChau High School won bronze medals.
At last year’s AphOin Indonesia, Vietnamese students brought home two gold medals, twosilvers, one bronze and three certificates of merit.
