Vietnam wins silver medal at WorldSkills 2019

Vietnam secured a silver medal at the 45th World Skills Competition (WorldSkills 2019) which concluded in Kazan, the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia) on August 27.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam secured a silver medal at the 45th World SkillsCompetition (WorldSkills 2019) which concluded in Kazan, the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia)on August 27.

TruongThe Dieu from the Vietnam Training Academy of DENSO Vietnam Co.,Ltd, broughthome the silver medal in Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Milling. This is thehighest achievement of Vietnam after seven times entering the tournament.

Eightother Vietnamese competitors received awards for excellence.

Vietnamranked 25 among 63 countries and territories at the competition this year andhad 19 competitors competing in 18 skills.

Inprevious years, the highest result Vietnam achieved was winning twobronze medals.

TheWorldSkills Kazan 2019 was held for the first time in Russia from August 22-27.

More than1,300 contestants competed in 56 skill competitions across six skills sectors:Construction and Building Technology, Creative Arts and Fashion, Informationand Communication Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Socialand Personal Services, Transportation and Logistics.

TheWorldSkills is held every two years around the world. China will host the next competitionin 2021-VNA

FLC appeal hearing postponed, giving more time for compensation

After discussions and listening to opinions from lawyers, defendants, and victims present at the trial, the judicial panel stated that postponing the appeal hearing for Trinh Van Quyet, ex-chairman of FLC Group, is necessary to ensure the rights of the victims. The postponement aims to give the defendants and their families more time to pay compensation for victims and those with related rights and obligations.
