CMC Internet Security, developed by Vietnam ’s CMC Information Security Co., ranked second among five antivirus programmes that recently underwent quality testing.

The results of the test, conducted by the Vietnam Information Safety Lab (VISL) under the Defense Ministry’s Institute for Military Science and Technology shows that CMC Internet Security may kill 97.86 percent of viruses and harmful codes, and only ranked after foreign-based G-Data AV with 98.52 percent.

Three other foreign antivirus programmes include Avira AV with 96.48 percent, Bitdefender AV with 92.91 percent, and AVG with 80.15 percent.

This was the first test for such antivirus programmes, said VISL Acting Director Nguyen Khac Viet, adding that the software which meets standards will be given the seal of quality.

VISL is a state-managed agency, which is in the information safety field, and announced the results of tests of antivirus programmes currently used in Vietnam./.
