Vietnamese fine art and handicraft products are very popular among Japanese consumers for their unique characteristics, said a spokesperson for the ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC).
Hiroshi Sakamoto, an AJC expert in interior decoration stated this at a workshop in Ho Chi Minh City on Feb. 21.
He added that the Japanese people prefer these products as they are made by hand, are original, suitably priced and of good quality. However, Vietnamese businesses need to use new materials and create designs with national brand names to increase their exports.
The workshop was part of an AJC programme to jointly promote fine arts and crafts exports from Cambodia , Laos , Myanmar and Vietnam to Japan.
At the workshop, Japanese experts gave businesses advice on how to develop their products and ensure they are suitable for the Japanese market. - VNA
