The Association of Vietnamese People in the UK held its 7 th congress in London on Mar. 27 and elected an 11-member executive board for the 2011-2013 term.
In the new term, the association plans to focus on consolidating the Vietnamese community, supporting cultural and educational activities among the community, boosting exchanges with local organisations and authorities and raising charitable funds to help disadvantaged people in home country.
Attending the congress, Tao Thanh Huong, Charge d’affaires of the Vietnamese Embassy to the UK , praised the association’s achievements over the past time, which contributed to boosting the cooperative relations between Vietnam and the UK .
