An exhibition on Vietnam’s culture opened in Brussels, Belgium on October 11.
On display are old images of Vietnam collected by Clement Huet who lived in Hanoi in the 1912-1938 period.
The exhibition also displays a collection of antiques including Bat Trang pottery, a reproduction of Dong Son Drum and many other objects.
Visitors also have an opportunity to explore Vietnam’s culture through photos, articles on temples, pagodas, Buddha statues and archaeological excavation sites in Vietnam.
Clips depicting the production process of Bat Trang pottery, Dong Ho folk paintings and bell casting are also screened at the event.
President of the House of Representatives Andre Flahaut said the event is a good chance for Belgian people to understand more about Vietnam’s culture and contributes to promoting diplomatic ties and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Foreign Affair Didier Reynders said he is impressed with Vietnam’s gastronomy through photos and objects exhibited at the event.
The exhibition will run until May, 2014 as part of the activities to mark the 40 th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countrie.-VNA
