Buenos Aires (VNA) – The Vietnamese Culture and Tourism Week opened in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 25 on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam-Argentina diplomatic relations (October 25, 1973-2018).
The event drew representatives from the embassies of many countries in Argentina, the friendship associations of both countries, the Argentina-Vietnam Culture Institute (ICAV) and many travel firms and locals.
Addressing the event, a representative from the Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina introduced the history, cultural diversity and tradition of Vietnam as well as the country’s achievements.
Highlighting the tourism potential as well as famous landscapes of Vietnam such as Ha Long Bay, Sa Pa, Da Nang and Hue, the representative said Vietnam has become an attractive destination for Argentine tourists, with about 10,000 visitors per year.
Meanwhile, Secretary of Tourism of Santa Fe province, which is adjacent to Buenos Aires, Martin Bulos congratulated Vietnam on the country’s socio-economic attainments over the years, with average GDP growth of nearly 7 percent.
Bulos briefed participants on tourism in Santa Fe, underlining that the cultural week will promote friendship and mutual understanding between people of Argentina and Vietnam.
During the event, travel firms of both countries had a chance to meet and seek partnerships. A photo exhibition was also held to introduce Vietnam.-VNA
