Vietnamese film distributor to be honoured at CineAsia Awards

Hanoi (VNA) – Dinh Thi Thanh Huong, Vice Chairwoman of Galaxy Mediaand Entertainment JSC - a leading media and entertainment company in Vietnam,will be honoured with the “Distributor of the Year” Award at the CineAsiaAwards Ceremony in Hong Kong in December 2019.

“For over 20years, Ms. Huong has established herself as a leader in the media andentertainment industry. We cannot think of a more deserving recipient for thisyear’s award,” stated Andrew Sunshine, President of Film Expo Group, whichmanages CineAsia.

Huong has implementeda strategic planning scheme for long-term development at the Galaxy Media andEntertainment. She is also chief executive officer of Galaxy Studio JSC, one ofthe top private cinema and distribution businesses in Vietnam. Heraccomplishments including doubling revenue from 2012 to 2018 and increasing thenumber of employees for the company by more than 1,000 across the country. Shehas also played a key role in the success of movies such as Nu Hon Than Chet,Chang Trai Nam Ay, Qua Tim Mau, and Hoa Vang Tren Co Xanh.

The CineAsiaAwards will take place from December 9-12 at the Hong Kong Convention &Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong. The CineAsia trade show is where cinemaexhibition and distribution professional come to do business and network. Theconvention will also feature product presentations and screenings of majorupcoming films, exclusive sponsored events, and seminars relating to currentand future trends happening across the industry.-VNA

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.
