Paris (VNA) - Vinfast Manufacturing and Trading Company Limited, asubsidiary of Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup, unveiled two of its new carmodels at the 120th Paris Motor Show on October 2.

It’s the first time cars from Vietnam lined up with leading brands such asMercedes, Porche, Audi, Lamborghini and Lexus.
 
The launchof the new VinFast cars saw the presence of football legend David Beckham as guest of honour.

“These cars are incredible, sleek and high-tech,” said the former England footballcaptain. “It is amazing. It is so beautiful”.

Speaking at the event, VinFast General Director Jim Deluca, stressed thecompany’s goal of becoming a global brand. In the future, this brand will be presentin many markets around the world, he said.

VinFast Chairwoman Le Thi Thu Thuy said VinFast was the newest member of Vingroup,the largest private firm in Vietnam.

“The two cars are the first achievement of VinFast on thepath of realising its mission, naming Vietnam on the map of the world carmanufacturing industry," she said.

VinFast’s sedan and SUV models used BMW’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines andItalian design from Pininfarina. The appearance of VinFast at the Paris MotorShow 2018 has astounded professionals in the industry and international media.Thousands of articles have been written about the vehicles, which have beendeveloped in just over 365 days.

The names of its first two cars as LUX A2.0 for the sedan andLUX SA2.0 for the SUV were announced just one day before the Paris Motor Show2018. However, the price has not yet been revealed.

VinFast said it was currently cooperating with leading namesin Europe and America in the automotive field such as BMW, Bosch, Magna Steyrand Pininfarina, who have the best technology and experience in the world,creating LUX A2.0 and LUX SA2.0 with superior "Vietnamese identity - Italiandesign - German technology - international standard".

Located in coastal land Cat Hai in the northern city of Hai Phong, the modernVinFast automobile plant is designed to have a capacity of 500,000 vehicles peryear by 2025.
