Representatives from the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap and their partners from Germany have met at a workshop to seek opportunities for cooperation between the two sides.
During the event in Dong Thap’s Cao Lanh city on September 23, the two sides reviewed results of recent cooperation between the Vietnamese city and the German cities of Berlin, Dresden and Halle, and discussed how to foster the connection in the near future, particularly in health care, education-training, employment and social welfares.
Accordingly, Thai Hoa Hospital in Dong Thap will discuss its German partners on their links in exchanging personnel and sharing experience in the health care sector. The hospital was pledged equipment and technical assistance in the field from German partners.
Participants also proposed an idea to build “German House” project in Cao Lanh, which will be a symbol of cooperation and friendship between Dong Thai and German localities.
Frieder Badstiibner, chief executive officer of the Christian Academy Group operating in education in Halle city introduced participants to opportunities for educational cooperation between Vietnamese localities and German counterparts.
Meanwhile, Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Thi Thai briefed German investors on Dong Thap’s potential for economic development.
On the occasion, Dong Thap and Halle city signed a mutual agreement on cooperation strategy.-VNA
