Hong Kong (VNA) – The Vietnamese nationals in the Macau Special Administrative Region (China) held a meeting on October 22 to celebrate the 87th anniversary of Vietnam Women’s Day (October 20).
Speaking at the event, Chairwoman of the Mutual Support Fellow-Countrymen Association in Macau Tran Thi Thu reviewed the glorious tradition of Vietnamese women in the fight against foreign invaders.
She expressed her wish that the Vietnamese community, especially women, in Macau will support each other to enrich their families and the homeland.
On the occasion, she also launched a fundraising campaign in support of victims of the recent floods at home.
Deputy Consul General to Hong Kong and Macau Vu Chi Mai pledged to stand side by side with Vietnamese women to deal with difficulties, especially those regarding visa procedures.
Participants at the event were treated to music performances.-VNA
