Vietnamese in Ukraine advised to stay vigilant, well protect themselves

The Vietnamese community in Ukraine are advised to keep a close watch on the development of the situation and try to ensure safety of their lives and assets amidst current political tensions.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese community in Ukraine are advised tokeep a close watch on the development of the situation and try to ensure safety of their lives andassets amidst current political tensions.

Sharing difficulties facing the community, the Ministry ofForeign Affairs has asked Vietnamese people to keep calm and strictly follow notificationsand guidance of local authorities.

Security, order, and traffic in some cities may be unstable,so people should consider staying in place, preparing essentials, and finding asafe shelter; and carefully check luggage, vehicles, petroleum and personalpapers if they really have to move, the ministry noted.

It also recommended Vietnamese expats to keep in touch withVietnamese associations and friends and help one another.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy inUkraine will make efforts to protect citizens and support the community toovercome difficulties.

Remains of Vietnamese fallen soldiers, experts repatriated from Laos

The remains of 12 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts, who laid down their lives in different periods in Laos’ Savannakhet province, were repatriated following a handover ceremony on May 21. They will be re-buried at the Road 9 National Martyrs Cemetery in Vietnam's central province of Quang Tri on May 22.

Nghe An reburies martyrs' remains repatriated from Laos

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phung Thanh Vinh said that carrying a noble international duty, many Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts heroically joined Lao people in their struggle for national liberation and independence. Many of them sacrificed their lives in the country, including more than 12,000 soldiers laying down in the three provinces of Xaysomboun, Vientiane, and Xiangkhouang.
