
Hanoi (VNA) – The fruitful cooperation between Vietnamese and Indian CoastGuards will contribute to enhancing mutual trust and promoting collaboration inother spheres between defence ministries of the two countries, said aVietnamese high-ranking officer.
MajorGeneral Ngo Minh Tien, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the VietnamPeople’s Army, made the remarks while receiving Director General of the IndianCoast Guard Rajendra Singh in Hanoi on April 25.
TheVietnamese Ministry of National Defence and the General Staff always supportand stand ready to create favourable conditions for the forces to step up theiraffiliation, he said.
Vietnamalways keeps in mind and highly values good sentiments and support of theIndian army and people to the country during its past struggle for nationalliberation and reunification, as well as the present cause of nationalconstruction, and socio-economic development.
Forhis part, Rajendra Singh highlighted the fruitful traditional friendshipbetween Vietnam and India and briefed his host on collaboration between coastguards of the two countries, which, he said, has experienced progress,especially since they signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in2015. - VNA
