Vietnamese and Israeli business players gathered at a forum in Ho Chi Minh City on November 4 to seek cooperation opportunities, especially in hi-tech farming.

Addressing the event, Deputy Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem noted that HCM City always pioneers the supply of breeding animals, seedlings and technological advances, working as a bridge linking domestic and foreign firms together.

Israeli Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Yair Shamir stressed that Israel wants to get involved in Vietnam’s agricultural modernisation by applying science-technology.

Both nations highly appreciate the development of agriculture and Israel’s science-tech innovations prove a success, he said.

Top Israeli farming enterprises like Agrotop, Afimilk, Haifa Chemical and Netafim introduced their effective projects on waste treatment plants, abattoirs, animal feed, and cattle and poultry farms.

A number of Vietnamese businesses expressed their interest in automatic milking systems and surveillance equipment in farms.

The forum was a joint collaboration between the HCM City chapter of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Israeli Embassy in Vietnam.-VNA
