Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training and Thailand’s Commission on Higher Education (CHE) are running a joint training course in the Vietnamese language for teachers in Bangkok.
The course, the second of its kind to be run by the two neighbouring countries, is to improve the quality of Vietnamese language training in Thailand.
The first one took place in Noong Khai and Nakhon Phanom in 2008.
The two-week course will offer training to 16 Thai teachers of Vietnamese origin and Thai teachers who are teaching the Vietnamese language in universities.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the CHE’s representative, Dr. Surin Churaisin, said that the course will equip trainees with the necessary experience and knowledge, enabling them to teach the Thai community of Vietnamese origin in Bangkok as well as other cities in Thailand.-VNA
