Hundreds of university students in the Republic of Korea (RoK) participated in the second Vietnamese language speaking and art performance contest which opened in the port city of Busan on Nov. 27.
The students, including Vietnamese, came from the Pusan Foreign Language University , the Korea Foreign Language University , the Chung-woon University and the Young-san University .
While opening the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Tran Trong Toan said the contest took place at a time when friendly and cooperative relations between the two nations are growing fruitfully.
The contest aims to encourage RoK students to learn Vietnamese and introduce Vietnamese culture to young RoK people, the ambassador noted.
Along with speaking Vietnamese, the contestants sang Vietnamese songs praising the late President Ho Chi Minh and featuring the 1,000 th founding anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, and performed Vietnam ’s traditional dances./.
