Reviewing joint work between the two ministries over thepast years, both sides said they helped raise public awareness of greatfriendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the twocountries, especially on the occasion of major celebrations in each side.
Vongdala thanked the Vietnamese Party, Government and peoplefor providing practical, effective and invaluable support for Laos in the paststruggle for national independence and the current construction anddevelopment.
He lauded the Vietnamese ministry for holding refreshercourses for Lao reporters and editors, and asked for further support in thefield.
The host expressed his belief that the collaboration betweenthe two ministries will be further expanded in diverse areas in the future.
For his part, Minister Hung affirmed the close cooperationwith the Lao ministry and said he will work to elevate it to a new high.
As the information and communications sector plays an important role inintroducing the policies and regulations in both nations, Hung suggested bothministries bolster collaboration in various fields, particularly in trainingfor reporters and editors, as well as maintain annual journalist exchanges.
The two ministries should direct press and media agencies to increase reports onthe socio-economic situation of the two countries and their peoples and land,helping tighten the friendship and solidarity between the two countries, herecommended.
He took the occasion to thank the Lao side for creating favourable conditionsfor Vietnamese reporters to fulfill their mission in the host nation.
Hung and Bosengkham Vongdala inked a cooperation deal between the twocountries.
Earlier, Hung visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos and worked with Vietnamesepress offices in the country.-VNA
