Hanoi (VNA) –
Vietnam and Laosexchanged experience in local government activities during a workshop held inHanoi on March 5.

The event aims to increase knowledge sharingbetween Vietnamese and Lao legislative and elective agencies from central tolocal levels, said Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai.

The panels talked about the inspection of lawenforcement in state budget collection, and coordination mechanisms between themunicipal People’s Council and sectors and localities to handle people’srecommendations.

Land-related policies, land management in thecapital Hanoi, as well as incentive policies for small- and medium-sizedenterprises were also under discussion.

Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly TongThi Phong hoped the Lao side could learn from Vietnam’s experience inthese fields after the workshop.

She suggested that Hanoi continue promotingexchanges with Laos, especially in urban management and development.

Chairwoman of Lao National Assembly Pany Yathotousaid the experience that Hanoi shared during the workshop will help the Laoparliament, elective bodies, and local governments increase the quality of lawbuilding, supervision, and enforcement.

She asked the Hanoi and Vientiane People’sCouncils to strengthen coordination in the time ahead. –VNA
