The northern province of Hoa Binh and Laos’ Luang Prabang province on December 26 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on promoting bilateral cooperation.
The document was inked during talks between Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council Bui Van Tinh and Khampheng Xaysompheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Governor of Luang Prabang, who is on a working visit to the Vietnamese locality.
In the MoU, the two sides agreed to intensify friendship and collaboration in the spirit of respecting each other for mutual interests and following each country’s law and policies.
Priority will be given to the fields of defence, security, education, health, industry, trade, investment, tourism and culture.
They reached a consensus of resuming their twinning relationship signed between Ha Son Binh (now Hoa Binh) and Luang Prabang on March 6, 1979.-VNA
