A solemn ceremony was held in central Ha Tinh province on May 12 to bury the remains of 27 volunteer Vietnamese soldiers and experts who sacrificed their lives during the war in the Lao battlefield.

The ceremony at the Nam National Martyrs' Cemetery in Huong Son district was attended by representatives from Ministry of National Defence, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Military Zone 4 High Command, as well as Vietnam ’s Ha Tinh province and Laos ’ Bolykhamsay province.

Earlier on May 11, authorities of central Quang Binh province also held a memorial and burial ceremony for the remains of 50 volunteer Vietnamese soldiers and experts repatriated from Laos .

The ceremonies reflected the deep gratitude and responsibility of Vietnamese authorities and people to heroes and martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for Vietnam ’s national liberation cause and lofty international duty.

They also contributed to educating and further tightening the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos.-VNA
